Features

Dual Chassis Versatility: 3-Wheel or 4-Wheel Configuration

+

The MXS Series provides the unique advantage of selecting the exact chassis configuration that matches your operational environment. You can choose the 3-wheel (MXST) model for industry-leading maneuverability and a near-zero turning radius in narrow aisles or opt for the 4-wheel (MXS) configuration for enhanced lateral stability and a familiar automotive-style feel when navigating outdoor yards and handling heavy loads at height.

Built To Last

+

As well as saving money daily with low energy consumption, the MXS Series lift trucks are able to reduce total cost of ownership through features like:

  • Sealed components to protect from water and other contaminants.
  • Highly durable materials and designs
  • 1,000-hour PM intervals
  • Modular design simplifies addition or replacement of parts, including the overhead guard and cabin options.

Self-Diagnostics

+

To maximize uptime and maintain the performance levels of these durable trucks, we build easy servicing into their design. Integrated on-board diagnostics provide immediate truck status. Its intuitive dialogue display combined with accessible service history reduces troubleshooting time, so the unit is back in operation faster. Everything is done through a smart LCD panel. No handset device is needed.

Control And Productivity

+

Designed and engineered to perform, these 48-volt three- and four-wheel electrics work intuitively, tailoring their performance to your individual operator. Their sophisticated software analyzes behavior in real-time and automatically adjusts the truck’s behavior for safe but productive performance. Driving and load handling is easier, steadier, and more comfortable.

  • A synchronization system for the steering knob automatically returns it to its correct position whenever the truck straightens up, even if the wheel is forced beyond its end stop.
  • Optional touch-sensitive fingertip controls are spring-loaded to feel natural and gentle to the touch. Ergonomic controls include an adjustable armrest when selecting the optional fingertip controls.

Responsive Drive System And Electric Magnetic Brake

+

The Responsive Drive System (RDS) reacts instantly to changes in speed of foot and pedal movement. RDS adapts performance rapidly in reaction to speed of pedal operation, and helps ensure smooth, controlled travel movements, starts, and stops.

Fully electronic magnetic brakes require less servicing and offer greater energy efficiency. The electromagnetic parking brake is standard and does not require hand levers to release the brakes. This helps reduce maintenance costs and the total cost of ownership.

Electronic differential locks front wheels to increase traction on slippery surfaces – this is activated automatically at small steering angles or manually via an optional front pedal.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can electric pneumatic forklifts be used outdoors in the rain?

+
Yes, modern electric pneumatic forklifts are built with high Ingress Protection (IP) ratings. For example, many models are rated IPX4, meaning they are protected against splashes of water from any direction. While they shouldn't be submerged, they are perfectly capable of operating in light-to-moderate rain or across damp outdoor yards, making them a versatile choice for year-round operations.

How does the performance of an electric pneumatic model compare to propane (LPG)?

+
For many years, propane was the king of power, but the gap has closed. Models like the MX 48V Series feature Responsive Drive Systems (RDS) that adjust performance based on the speed of foot pedal movement. This provides "instant torque" that propane engines can't match, resulting in smoother acceleration and more precise control in tight spaces.

What is the typical battery run-time for a 48V electric pneumatic forklift?

+
Run-time varies based on the intensity of the work (lifting vs. driving), but a standard 48V battery usually supports a full 8-hour shift. With the addition of Lithium-ion technology or "opportunity charging" (charging during breaks), these trucks can often run for two or even three shifts without needing a battery swap, which is a major advantage for high-volume logistics hubs.

Are electric pneumatic forklifts more expensive to maintain?

+
Actually, they are significantly cheaper to maintain over time. Electric forklifts have fewer moving parts—no engines, transmissions, spark plugs, or oil filters to replace. You save on fuel costs (electricity is cheaper than propane) and reduce downtime for routine engine maintenance. The primary maintenance focus is simply keeping the battery watered (if using lead-acid) or simply charging it (if using Li-ion).

Why should I choose a 3-wheel vs. a 4-wheel electric pneumatic model?

+
It comes down to your workspace:
  • 3-Wheel (like the MXST): Offers a tighter turning radius. The rear wheel can turn almost 90 degrees, allowing it to pivot in its own footprint—perfect for narrow aisles.
  • 4-Wheel (like the MXS): Provides better lateral stability, especially when lifting heavy loads at height or traveling over more aggressive outdoor terrain.
